Edward the Elder, reign 899-924 King of Wessex

Edward the Elder was king of England. He was crowned king of England in 902 and spent his reign warring against the Danes, from whom he regained most of central England and in 924 his overlordship of Britain was recognised by the king of the Scots by the English of Bernicia and by the Britons of Strathcyde. He died in 924.
