Robert McClelland
1789 - 1858
Rober McClelland was born in Ohio in 1789. His Mother died when he was quite young, and his father died a few years later. He went to Gallatin (now White) County, Illinois, while still a young man.
In about 1816, Robert McClelland was married to Charlotte Council in White County. Their first two of 12 children were born there.
In August of 1819, Robert and Charlotte Council McClelland arrived in what is now Fancy Creek Township, Sangamon County, being pioneers in a wild and sparsely settled area. They first resided in a log cabin, but eventually accumulated a fine property.
Robert McClelland died on October 31,1858.
