Maria Long

Maria Long was born about 1820, one of the six children, five of whom were daughters, of Emanuel Long, a blacksmith and veterinarian of Sporting Hill, Rapho Twp., Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Maria was the wife of Samuel Horst, also of Lancaster County. They were members of the Mennonite church, as were most of the residents of the area where they lived.
Samuel and Maria Horst lived on farms in the area of Sporting Hill and Manheim, and Landisville, all their lives. They had four children: David, following, William, Samuel, and Mary (or Zebbie) Brubaker.
