Hannah Rebecca Dwire
1841 - 1882

Hanna Rebecca Dwire was born on June 8, 1841, in Indiana. She was residing in Plattsville, Grant Co., Wisconsin, on June 1, 1962, when she was married to John Elisha Tucker, a blacksmith residing in the village of Montfort. Seven of their eight children were born in Montfort. One son, William, died there in his infancy. "Beckie" Tucker suffered from tuberculosis, and seeking a better climate for here, the family moved to Eureka, Greenwood Co., Kansas, about 1876. In 1878, the family moved to a farm home between Piedmont and Severy, Greenwood County. A daughter, Myrtle Emily, was born there in 1881 but died the following year.

Hannah Rebecca Tucker died on July 21, 1882, at 42 years of age. She is buried in the Twin Grove Cemetery at Severy, Kansas.

Two of her brothers, Thomas Dwire adn William H. Dwire, resided with their famillies on nearby farms, in Greenwood County. Three of Rebecca's daughters, Mary Elinor, Margaret Rose, and Jennie Florence, followed her in death before reaching adulthood, adn her son Jerome Everett Tucker died in 1896. her daughter Frances Almeda McBride died in 1960. John Handley Tucker, following, died in 1939.
