Samuel Alexander Johnston
1788 - 1861

Samuel Alexander Johnston was born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, in 1788. He was the son of Samuel and Janetta Johnston of Bethlehem Township in Hunterdon County.

On July 30, 1814, Samuel was married to Cornelia Fritts, the daughter of George and Anna (Able) Fritts, also of Hunterdon County. They lived for several years in Hunterdon County where six children were born.

In about 1830, Samuel and Cornelia Johnston and their family removed to Clermont County, Ohio. Later they removed to Cook County, Illinois, where Samuel was a farmer.

Samuel Alexander Johnston died in 1861 in Cook County, Illinois, and is buried with his wife in the Euclid Cemetery at Arlington Heights, Cook County, Illinois.
